Dr. Meir Agaki finds a cavity with a dental operating microscope
Doug came to see Dr. Meir Agaki for the one hour laser teeth whitening. Doug purchased the certificate on internet site like group-on. Upon a free microscope examination, Dr. Agaki found a pretty deep caries/decay in Doug's upper right molar #3. Doug was surprised because he just saw a dentist by his H.M.O plan a week before for his check up and cleaning. The other dentist may have missed the diagnosis because he did not have the aid of the magnification and light of the microscope. Doug was able to see the cavity clearly on overhead video and understood that the cavity was missed. Doug was instructed to see his dentist for treatment for this missed cavity. Undiagnosed cavities can lead to more severe treatment such as a root canal and crowns later as they penerate deeper over time.
